Scripture Reading

John 14:16–17
16
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be[a] in you.

Galatians 5:22–23
22
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Reflection

Loving people isn't always easy. Sometimes it's the hardest thing we'll ever do. That's why Jesus didn't leave us alone. He gave us the Holy Spirit—the One who empowers us to love beyond our own ability.

The Holy Spirit makes the impossible possible. He enables us to forgive when we're hurt, serve when we're tired, and love when our feelings tell us not to.

Reflection Questions

  • Where am I trying to love others in my own strength?

  • Have I invited the Holy Spirit into my relationships?

  • Is there someone I need the Spirit's help to forgive?

  • How can I become more aware of the Spirit's presence today?

Prayer

Holy Spirit, I need You. Fill me with Your presence and empower me to love the way Jesus loves. Guide my thoughts, my words, and my actions today. Help me become more patient, more forgiving, and more compassionate. Amen.
