It’s Time to Pioneer! Join us this weekend as we celebrate our first Sunday at Pioneer Middle School. This weekend is an important milestone for us and I want to take a moment to remember what God spoke into our hearts those precious first days. Here are some excerpts from our very first posts:

It is with great joy that I can now announce to you that the Lord is calling a group of faithful men and women out unto the water to take our next step of faith together and be a part of birthing a new church. Rise Community Church! God is calling us to begin a ministry that he has prepared for us from the start, to be a part of building a community of discipled believers to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We believe very strongly in the power of serving the community! Serving is a way to treat people the way God wants to see them treated, and it’s the very essence of God’s heart. That’s why it’s so powerful. Our mission is clear to Love and Serve! We love and serve God as we love and serve people. I am deeply honored to be continuing to serve alongside some of the most faithful men and women I have ever known. We have all responded to the call, not to build the Church, but to be the Church! All are welcome to join us in fellowship. Come and be a part of rediscovering the Church with us.

       "Wake up, O sleeper, Rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you."                                                                                               Ephesians 5:14

It is with great humility that we share with you the calling Jesus has placed on our hearts. Teresa and I are honored that the lord has entrusted us to be one of the founding families of Rise Community Church along with Pastor Pete, Martha and a few more extraordinary families. For over a year the lord has been speaking directly to our hearts, each of us at the same time with joy and great expectations that he was about to do something new. We have a deep desire in our heart of hearts to love people and love our community, by serving them. Jesus began calling all of us long ago to be his hands and feet and to radically transform our communities. The lord is calling this generation to rise up and be known by their love, kindness, faith and to bring hope to our world. This is truly a movement of the Holy Spirit, our mission is clear, to love and serve. We love and serve God as we love and serve his people.

“With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God. Mark 10:27

It is through prayer, opened doors, inner convictions, squirrels, wise counsel, reflection, and inner peace, that we have been led by GOD to start Rise Community Church. It is a privilege, a blessing, an assignment, an opportunity, an adventure, a celebration, and the next step of faith. We are humbled and ready.

Many times in our lives we are called; just as the disciple Peter was, to step out of the boat and fix our eyes on Jesus in trusting beyond what our eyes can see. We are very excited and blessed beyond measure that God has once again called our family to take another step of faith. So, in obedience with our eyes & hearts focused solely on Him, we are excited to share we are joining our Senior Pastor Peter Pera, Martha Pera and their family alongside the other founding families in starting Rise Community Church! As for my family and I, we are so excited & ready to get to work for Jesus in ways we have never done before! Our mission is simple - to serve people in the ways that Jesus calls us to. We are humbly honored for the privilege to be the hands and feet of Jesus, to just simply love and serve people!

Reflecting and remembering all that God has already done in our lives is an essential part of the Christian walk. His word calls us to remember!

Remember the great works which He has done; His wonders, and the decisions of His mouth;
1 Chronicles 16:12

So today I pray that we all take a moment together, look back over the last nine months, and simply stand in awe of God! All He has done! Jesus has opened doors, answered prayers, changed lives, guided us, provided for us, and brought dreams to life. God is truly faithful. And as He calls us to take another step of obedience together, He will continue to go before us leading the way.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

I look forward to all that God is yet to do!

Pastor Pete
