Alpha is a welcoming space to explore the big questions of life and faith in an open, honest, and relaxed environment. Whether you are new to church, returning to faith, exploring Christianity, or simply curious, Alpha is a place where you can come as you are, ask real questions, and have meaningful conversations.
At Rise Community, Alpha is designed to be simple, relational, and pressure-free. We gather around food, watch a short teaching, and then have open discussion in small groups.
No pressure. No judgment. Just honest conversation.

What Is Alpha?
Alpha is a series of sessions that explore the basics of the Christian faith. Each gathering creates space for people to connect, listen, ask questions, and share what they think.
Every session focuses on a different question about life, faith, and Jesus. The goal is not to force answers or put anyone on the spot. The goal is to create a safe environment where people can explore faith at their own pace.
Alpha is run all around the world and is designed for people from all backgrounds, beliefs, and life experiences. Everyone is welcome.
Who Is Alpha For?
Alpha is for anyone who is curious.
It is for people who are exploring faith for the first time, people who have questions about Christianity, people who grew up around church but still have doubts, and people who are looking for a fresh start with God.
Alpha is also a great place to invite a friend, neighbor, coworker, or family member who may not be ready for a Sunday service but would be open to a conversation about life and faith.
You do not need to know the Bible. You do not need to have church experience. You do not need to have everything figured out.
Just come open.
What to Expect
Each Alpha gathering includes three simple parts:
Food
Alpha begins with a meal or refreshments because we believe good conversations often happen around the table. It is a relaxed way to meet people, build friendships, and feel at home.
Teaching
Each session includes a short video teaching that explores a key question about the Christian faith, such as who Jesus is, why prayer matters, how to read the Bible, and what it means to have a relationship with God.
Conversation
After the teaching, we break into small groups for open discussion. This is the heart of Alpha. You can share your thoughts, ask questions, or simply listen. There are no wrong questions, and no one is pressured to speak.
What Topics Will We Explore?
Throughout the course, we will discuss questions like:
Is there more to life than this?
Who is Jesus?
Why did Jesus die?
How can I have faith?
Why and how do I pray?
Why and how should I read the Bible?
How does God guide us?
Who is the Holy Spirit?
How can I make the most of the rest of my life?
These conversations are designed to help you explore Christianity in a way that is honest, thoughtful, and practical.

At Rise Community, we believe church should be a place where people can bring their questions, doubts, hopes, and stories.
Faith is not meant to be explored alone. Alpha gives us a space to slow down, share a meal, listen to one another, and talk about the things that matter most.
Our hope is that Alpha helps people encounter the love of God, discover the way of Jesus, and find meaningful community along the journey.
